Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly trying to make a move for Benfica centre-back Ruben Dias.

Ruben Dias has come up through the ranks at Benfica and this season, the defender has played in 20 league games for the senior side.

But as per reports, the 22-year-old could be on his way to England since two of the biggest clubs in the Premier League want his services.

Dias was on the radar of a number of the big clubs before the start of the season but the defender ended up staying in Portugal and signing a new deal with Benfica.

This time around though, the centre-back is expected to leave the club with both Liverpool and Manchester City eager to get his services.

Last summer, Manchester United too were tracking Ruben Dias but now that they have signed Harry Maguire we do not think the Red Devils will be looking to splurge on another defender.

This means that City and Liverpool will be fighting a two-horse race and will most certainly have to break the bank in order to bring Ruben Dias to the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola is looking to get rid of John Stones as the England international has been poor this summer while Jurgen Klopp would be wanting to reinforce his defensive line with a strong talent like Dias for the upcoming season.

While Spurs too are said to be in the race to sign the Amadora-born lad, we don’t think Jose Mourinho will be able to get his hands on the defender especially since with two big names like Man City and Liverpool already standing in the queue.
