Ruben Dias had a wonderful 2018-19 campaign with Benfica featuring in 32 league games and this summer there have been rumours that he might move out.

Benfica have already sold off Joao Felix to Atletico Madrid during the current transfer window for a fee of €126 million and now rumours have it that Benfica are also ready to sell Ruben Dias.

Ruben Dias has attracted a lot of attention from some of the top European clubs all this year and a number of English Premier League clubs are said to be interested in getting his signature.

The likes of Man United and Arsenal have been linked with the centre-back and both these clubs are in urgent need of defensive reinforcements.

The Gunners are looking to bring in a new centre-back now that Laurent Koscielny is set to move to France for the upcoming season.

And on the other hand, Man United are looking at Ruben Dias as a backup in case they fail to bring in Harry Maguire from Leicester City.

While there have been speculations that Ruben Dias could be tempted to join an English club this summer but recently the 22-year-old made it pretty clear that he is fully focused on playing for Benfica next season.

“My head is not there [leaving Benfica]. I’m here pre-season, I don’t have to think about anything else,” he said.

“It’s important to work on wins, but more important is to grow in stages of the game. We have to keep growing.

“The team will always be at a high level for quality. squad, but we can improve. ”

It has been reported that Ruben Dias has a release clause of around £54 million which certainly makes him an attractive option in the transfer market. But as things stand the defender has no intentions of leaving Portugal this summer.

Also, the fact that Ruben Dias is under contract at Benfica until the summer of 2023, means the club are in no rush to offload him.
