Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has hinted that midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek might not remain at Stamford Bridge during the 2021/22 season.
Loftus-Cheek spent the previous season out on loan to Fulham but right now, he’s back with the Blues and also featured in their pre-season game against Arsenal on Sunday.
But speaking after the 2-1 win, Thomas Tuchel hinted that the 25-year-old could be sent out to get more game time.
“It’s too early to judge Ruben,” Tuchel said on Sunday.
“He has everything in his hands and it’s on him to decide his own future like every player. He has to keep on going 150% because 100% is not enough.
“Generally, I am happy and that’s why he plays, he deserves to play at this point of the preparation.

“But I think he can do even more, he can show up more. He can show more physical capability and drive more with the ball. I’m never satisfied with him, I have the feeling we need to push him to the absolute limit.”
Will Ruben Loftus-Cheek leave Chelsea?
The 25-year-old’s current deal expires in 2024 so Chelsea are in no hurry to cash in on him but with such a packed midfield, there’s no way he will be able to break into the first-team squad next season.
So, the only way he will be able to play regularly is by moving out on loan once again. Now, the only thing left to see is if Ruben Loftus-Cheek chooses a move to Germany or does he wish to remain in the Premier League.
