Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has urged Ruben Neves to snub interest from the rest of Europe and remain in the Premier League.

The midfielder has been tipped to leave Wolves this summer and several big European clubs are being constantly linked with him. Barcelona have been named as a potential destination for the 25-year-old but Di Marzio has claimed that a move to Arsenal or Manchester United will be the correct decision for Neves.

“They (Arsenal) want Ruben Neves from a long time, so I think they will try to get him,” he explained, as quoted. “Arsenal wants to have new midfielders, strong midfielders. Surely, Ruben Neves is one of them.

“The Arsenal project is a project with a coach that loves an offensive play style and Arsenal is perfect for him. It depends on what Ruben Neves wants to do, if he wants to play Champions League or not.

“It depends on Arsenal’s budget because they have to buy a lot of players. I don’t know if it is limited or not.

“Arsenal and Man Utd next season, they want to do new projects,” he added. Man Utd with Ten Hag and new players, changing a lot of players.

“Arsenal and Man Utd are the right solutions for a player like him.”

Will Man United or Arsenal actually make a move for Ruben Neves?

Both these clubs had initially shown an interest in Ruben Neves but rumours are ripe that the midfielder wishes to join FC Barcelona. He wants to play in the Champions League plus a team like Barca do not come calling often.

There’s no doubt Arsenal and Man United can use a player like Neves but we don’t think either of them will be bagging his services.

The Gunners have been fully focused on signing Youri Tielemans and they are said to be very close to closing the deal for the Leicester City midfielder.

On the other hand, Man United’s new manager is keen to sign Frenkie de Jong and the club’s pulling all the strings to bring him on board.

We don’t think Erik ten Hag will shift his focus to Ruben Neves and even Neves will be hoping that De Jong joins United so that his transition to Barcelona becomes even more seamless.

Ruben Neves is a tried and tested player in the Premier League, having played more than 200 games for Wolves which is why he was one of the first targets for a series of Premier League clubs but since he wasn’t inclined to join Man United or Arsenal in the very beginning both these clubs have since moved to their alternative targets.
