Manchester United have made their first signing of the season in the form of winger Daniel James from Swansea City.

United have reportedly shell out around 21 million for the services of the 21-year-old and many believe the lighting quick winger could be the next big thing at Old Trafford.

During the past couple of seasons, Man United have focused on making big signings which more often than not have failed to deliver but with the signing of Daniel James, it is quite evident that Solskjaer is focusing more on English talent this summer.

Man United released a statement saying: “Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed, in principle, terms with both Swansea City and Daniel James for his transfer to the club.

“Daniel has successfully completed a medical at the Aon Training Complex.”

Former Man United winger Ryan Giggs is currently managing the Wales national side and he has seen Daniel James from very close quarters during the two games the youngster has played for the Welsh national side.

And the Old Trafford legend has urged Daniel James to be himself when he plays for Man United rather than trying to emulate someone else.

“He’s assured me that he’s ready to play but we’ll have to see how we go,” Giggs told reporters.

“You have to be flexible because you don’t want things weighing on players’ minds, so if you can get it sorted it’s better for us and for the player as well.

“If it happens, United are getting an exciting player that I know Man United fans will get behind and enjoy watching him.

“It’s fantastic for everyone – for Dan, for Manchester United and a good deal for Swansea City as well.

“I would say enjoy it, it’s the biggest club in the world so enjoy the challenge.

“He’s potentially going there because of what he’s done over the last year or so, especially the last six months. Be yourself, don’t be anyone else.”
