Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ryan Sessegnon has picked up an injury during the international break, as confirmed by the national team.

The statement read: “Harvey Elliott and Ryan Sessegnon have withdrawn from the England men’s under-21s squad to play Kosovo on Tuesday.

“Tottenham Hotspur player Sessegnon has also returned to his club for further assessment after picking up a knock in training.”

The 21-year-old has endured a really tough time ever since joining the North London side in 2019. And unfortunately, the situation has not gotten any better under the new boss.

Nuno Espirito Santo has even come out to publicly claim that Ryan Sessegnon is enduring a tough time at the club.

“I will start with Sessegnon,” the Spurs boss had said after Ryan’s performance against Pacos de Ferreira in the Conference League.

“I think he is struggling, he is struggling. A lot of time out of competition. He has talent.

“He is a player that can give us good things, one vs ones, crossing, he has energy but he did not do all that he has today. I truly believe that he has much more that he can give.”

Reguilon is the first-choice left-back for Spurs right now and Nuno has Ben Davies as back-up. Ryan Sessegnon can also play on the left-hand side of midfield but the manager has abundant players in that area as well.

So Nuno will not be too tensed with the injury to Sessegnon.

The 21-year-old’s chances will be limited to the Conference League and cup games this season and there’s a big chance he will be sent out on loan during the January transfer window.
