Sadio Mane to return to the EPL
Sadio Mane playing for Liverpool

Liverpool suffered a major scare during the international break after Sadio Mane had to be withdrawn during Senegal’s 1-1 draw with Togo on Thursday.

The winger had to come off in the 28th minute of the match with a suspected rib injury and immediately it was a matter of concern for the Liverpool manager.

The Anfield outfit take on Arsenal in the Premier League once the domestic season commences and if Sadio Mane had missed that game then it would have been a big blow for Liverpool.

But thankfully the injury does not look serious as the Guardian have quoted the Senegal manager who’s claimed that Sadio Mane was taken off only as a precaution.

The manager has said: “we took him off as a precaution and there is nothing serious.”

Apart from this statement, various other reports are also claiming that Mane’s injury is not significant and he’s not likely to miss the clash against Arsenal.

If these reports are true then it is a major sigh of relief for the Liverpool manager since he’s already missing Roberto Firmino who’s nursing a hamstring injury and will not be available on the 20th of November.

Arsenal have been in stellar form over the previous few months so Liverpool will need all the cavalry to be able to pick up three points vs the Gunners.

Jota will be a direct replacement for the injured Firmino but if Sadio Mane is not ready to play then Divock Origi will have to come into the side and against a buoyant Arsenal side, Jurgen Klopp will not want such a forward line.

The Liverpool vs Arsenal game is more than a week away and if his rib injury is not serious then Sadio Mane should have enough time to make a full recovery.
