Mohamed Salah urged by Liverpool fans to delete a tweet

0

Mohamed Salah has just about arrived at Liverpool after becoming the club’s first big signing this season. But it looks as if the Egyptian has already gotten into trouble.

The Liverpool fans have urged Salah to delete a tweet that he had posted last year because the fans now feel uncomfortable with it.

The controversial tweet:

The tweet that Liverpool fans are talking about is related to that infamous Steven Gerrard slip in 2014 that cost Liverpool their Premier League title. The then Liverpool skipper slipped on the half way line and that resulted in Chelsea getting the opener through Demba Ba.

Chelsea went on to win the match leaving Liverpool short of the Premier League crown. And as many would remember, Salah and Ba were teammates at Chelsea when the incident took place. But after that season, Ba left Chelsea to join Besiktas and then eventually moving to China to join Shanghai Shenhua.

During his stint in China, Ba suffered a horrific leg break. And it was during this time that Salah had posted a tweet in support of his former teammate. And as luck would have it, the picture in the tweet was the one from that infamous day when Gerrard slipped.

Now as Salah is officially a Liverpool player, the fans have been going through his Twitter profile. And in doing so they have stumbled upon this tweet. And now many fans have urged the Egyptian to delete it.

When the picture was posted it had nothing to do with Liverpool. But clearly, the picture still haunts the Liverpool fans.
