Mikel Arteta is under real pressure at Arsenal and according to Tony Cascarino, Sam Allardyce will do a much better job than the Spaniard.

Arsenal are sitting at the bottom of the table, losing all three of their league matches and there’s a large contingent of fans who want to see him sacked asap.

According to Cascarino, Big Sam might set up Arsenal more defensively but he will definitely be able to grind out results for the North London club.

“If you look at what he did to West Brom – I know they went down – but he certainly made them far better defensively,” Casc told talkSPORT.

“He’d make Arsenal way better.

“I know some Arsenal fans don’t care about that, they want their teams to have flair, but I think Sam would undoubtedly do a better job than Arteta is doing at the moment.”

Arsenal are obviously not planning to bring in Sam Allardyce to replace Mikel Arteta any time soon but there’s no denying that Arteta needs to get his act straight at the earliest.

Some reports have claimed that the Gunners board is not planning to sack their current boss any time soon but things can turn south pretty rapidly.

After the international break, Arsenal have some winnable games against teams like Norwich, Burnley and Brighton so the manager will be eyeing maximum points from these matches.

Sam Allardyce will obviously be great at doing a perfect patch-up job at the club but in a recent interview, Edu talked about how the club are building their squad keeping the future in mind.

They are spending money on young and talented players who are going to hit their peak after a few seasons and as things stand they want Mikel Arteta to carry this squad forward.
