Man Utd goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is reportedly wanted by a string of Premier League clubs.

According to the Manchester Evening News, which sources the news from the Daily Mail has claimed that teams like West Brom, Huddersfield and Leicester are all interested in signing the 24-year-old keeper.

Johnstone spent the second half of the previous season out at loan to Aston Villa. And there he ended up having a fine season managing to keep eight clean sheets.

Villa boss Steve Bruce was really happy with the stopper’s performances and wanted to keep the player at Villa for another season.

Johnstone is currently the fourth choice keeper at United after De Gea, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira.

And in such a scenario it will be really difficult for Johnstone to break into the first team. And will such a long list of Premier League clubs interested he might just actually look to move out of United and pursue a career elsewhere.

On the other hand, United are desperately trying to hold on to De Gea amidst growing interest from Real Madrid. De Gea’s move to Real Madrid has been on the cards for quite some time now. But United are trying to hold back as long as possible. Just so that they make a good deal out of it.
