Scottish side Celtic FC seem to have reignited their interest in the signing of Union Berlin striker Sebastian Andersson, according to a report in Fotboll Skanalen.

Sebastian Andersson joined Union Berlin in the summer of 2018 and this season the centre-forward has been in more than decent form, scoring 12 goals in just 29 Bundesliga matches for the capital side.

And this is not the first time the Bhoys have shown interest in signing the 28-year-old since last year, the Scottish club was also being linked with Andersson.

This time though, things are a bit more importunate since Lennon’s first-choice striker, Odsonne Edouard could be heading to the Premier League with Arsenal being constantly linked with him.

Will Sebastian Andersson replace Edouard?

The interest in Sebastian Andersson is a clear indication that Celtic are fearful of losing out on Odsonne Edouard which is great news for Mikel Arteta.

Some reports over the past month or so have claimed that the Gunners boss is looking to offload Alexandre Lacazette in the summer and use that money to bring in someone like the Celtic forward.

While the Hoops will resist a transfer but major pundits fear that if Arsenal can offer a fee of around £30 million, Lennon will have no other option but to send him off to the Emirates.

Sebastian Andersson is being valued at around £5 million which, in turn, should not be a problem for Celtic if they can sell Odsonne Edouard at the correct transfer price in the summer.

Celtic aren’t the only club interested in signing the 28-year-old as clubs like Brighton and Valencia are also keen to land him in the summer. But we sure Neil Lennon will only make a move for the centre-forward once Arsenal have agreed to take in Odsonne Edouard.
