Sergio Aguero Man City

Everton become the latest club to be interested in signing Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero during the summer transfer window, as per The Daily Star.

Already big Premier League sides like Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are keen on bringing the soon-to-be free agent on board and now this entry of Everton is sure to spice things up a lot.

The report claims: “Everton are the latest club to enter the race for Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero.

“Chelsea, Tottenham, Leeds, Barcelona and Inter Milan are among those already hot on the heels of Aguero, And now Everton have added their name to the list as Goodison Park chief Carlo Ancelotti looks to strengthen his options up front.

“The Toffees could never match Aguero’s current salary at the Etihad worth £240,000-a-week.

“But they have informed the ex-Atletico Madrid man’s advisors that they will bridge any wage shortfall with a significant signing-on fee.”

Do Everton stand a chance in signing Aguero?

Everton have been a pretty decent unit this season and if Sergio Aguero was to join the Toffees then he will get the chance to play under a manager like Carlo Ancelotti.

But for Everton to stand any chance of signing him, they must first secure a European spot or else Aguero is never going to join them. In fact, even a Europa League spot might not be enough for them to lure him in.

As far as Chelsea and Spurs are concerned, they too are not likely to get their hands on Aguero simply cause the 32-year-old has pretty good offers from outside of the Premier League.

Given how long he has served Manchester City, Sergio Aguero will not be too eager to join a club that are in direct competition with his former side so at first, the Argentinian will consider any offers from outside of England.

His wages will also be a big factor as to where he lands up but given the very average form he has been in this season, we are sure Sergio Aguero will be more than willing to take a wage cut at this stage of his career.
