Arsenal might no longer be interested in signing Isco or Joan Jordan: Here’s why

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to add creativity to his midfield area during the January transfer window which is why players like Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan and Real Madrid’s Isco have been constantly linked with the Premier League side.

With Mesut Ozil leaving the Emirates, the Gunners can finally manage to sign new creative players but both Sevilla and Real Madrid have made it hard for Arteta to make a move.

While Sevilla are not too keen to part ways with Jordan during the middle of the season, Real Madrid are holding back since clubs like Juventus and Manchester City have also ignited their interest in Isco.

Naturally, Arsenal have a fight on their hands should they decide to sign either of these two players which is why some reports claim that Arteta is ready to lay his faith on young Emile Smith Rowe.

The 20-year-old has moved up the ladder pretty quickly at the Emirates and there’s a buzz that Arteta wants him to fill the boots left behind by Mesut Ozil.

Smith Rowe is undoubtedly a wonderful talent but if Arsenal want to get back into the Champions League next season then they have no other option but to sign someone like Joan Jordan from Sevilla.

Making a move for someone like Isco does not make any real sense since too many big clubs are interested in the Real Madrid misfit meaning Arsenal will be way down the pecking order.

Emile Smith Rowe is a talent for the future and he will have to slowly be introduced into the starting XI over the course of the season. Making him the centre of attraction could have major repercussions for both the team as well as the youngster.

For the time being, Arsenal will have to be sensible as they should try to rope in an attacking midfielder before the January transfer window comes to a close.

Apart from the Sevilla midfielder and Isco, the Gunners have also been linked with Inter Milan flop Christian Eriksen but Sky Sports are claiming that teams like Wolves, Ajax and West Ham United are interested in signing him this month.
