Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are keen to land Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze but as per Give Me Sport, he is one of the untouchables in the squad.
According to a recent report by Football Insider, Crystal Palace want at least £70 million for the 25-year-old but it looks like they will prefer to cash in on players like Michael Olise rather than let Eze leave.
Eze joined Palace from QPR in 2020 and since then he has been a very important player for the Eagles. Last season, he scored 10 goals and he’s backed that with nine goals and five assists in 26 Premier League games this time around. The fact that Palace are not interested in selling Eberechi Eze is probably because of new manager Oliver Glasner who is looking to reshape the squad for the next season as per his image.
Should Eberechi Eze push for a summer exit?
Eberechi Eze has been truly top-class for the Selhurst Park outfit with an xG of 8.95 and an xA of 5.41. He has a passing accuracy of almost 85% and he’s completed as many as 68 dribbles so far.
The 25-year-old is primarily an attacking midfielder but this season, he’s also played out on the left wing as many as 7 times.
Eze has been exceptional for two seasons running and we believe, this is the ideal time for him to take the next leap in his professional career. He has been with Palace for four years and it’s not every day that teams like Man City and Spurs want to sign you.
James Maddison has not been massively influential for Tottenham this season and a player like Eberechi Eze can easily come in and make that position his own next time around. Ange is actively searching for a new No. 10 and Spurs are very much willing to break the bank to bring Eze on board during the summer.
However, it’s the interest from Man City that is going to excite him the most because Gundogan has left, Silva might leave this season amidst interest from Barcelona and even KDB has been linked with an exit. If very much possible Eze can become a consistent figure in midfield for City for years to come.
The fact that the Eagles do not wish to lose Eberechi Eze just shows how important he is so this is the ideal time for him to seek a move out. It’s still unclear what the 25-year-old wishes to do but if he wants to play for a bigger club, he will have to take matters into his own hands because, with three more years left on his contract, Crystal Palace are in no hurry to offload him.
