Man United’s worst nightmare is about to come true: Can Ole stop it from happening?

Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic playing for Man United

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has one more year left on his current deal with the club and as per The Mirror, the player is not eager to put pen on paper to a new deal.

The exclusive report claims: “Manchester United fear that Paul Pogba will run down his contract and walk out of Old Trafford for nothing next year.

“United are desperate to convince the £89million Frenchman to sign a new deal ahead of the new season after being forced to trigger a 12-month extension in his current agreement.

“But their attempts to persuade Pogba and his agent to sign away the peak years of his career have become deadlocked.

“The prospect of the 28-year-old leaving Old Trafford for a second time, after honouring his contract, has turned into a nightmare scenario.”

Is Paul Pogba really set to leave as a free agent?

The 28-year-old had recently said the Manchester United management was yet to offer anything concrete regarding a new deal and this was a clear sign that the talks between the two parties are in limbo.

“I have a year of contract left, everyone knows that, “ he had recently said. “We finished the season with the Europa League, after that we had the holidays.

“I did not sit down with Edu Woodward (vice-president of the club) and the coach, we haven’t spoken. I’m still in Manchester.”

This is not the first time Paul Pogba has been linked with an exit(clubs like PSG, Real Madrid and Juventus are all keen to sign him) but all the talks were about him leaving this summer itself.

Now, it seems like Mino Raiola and Pogba are ready to play the waiting game and rather than asking for an exit and making themselves look like the bad guys, they are willing to wait it out.

Solskjaer will obviously want Paul Pogba to sign a new deal but the manager will need to deliver trophies in order to convince the World Cup winner to stay beyond the summer of 2022. Personally, we don’t think even all the silverware in Europe will be good enough to convince Pogba to stay at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman is currently playing in the European Championship so Man United still have a few more weeks to see where it goes. But if the management gets a hint that Paul Pogba is not ready to sign a new deal then they shouldn’t waste time and immediately put him up for sale this summer.
