Arsenal lost to West Ham United at the London Stadium this past weekend and with that, they have further drifted away from that top-four spot.

The Gunners are now six points behind Chelsea who currently sit fourth on the league table and next up they take on the Blues which could be a season-defining game for Unai Emery’s men.

But that game too could end up like the Hammers match if the manager cannot solve out a key problem.

Declan Rice scored the only goal during the West Ham vs Arsenal game and according to Gunners defender Sokratis, his team could not come up with a response since they lacked creativity in the final third.

“It is not about the two shots on target,” Sokratis told the Evening Standard.

“Look at how many chances we would have had if we had done better with the last pass.

“Look at how many chances we had to make the last pass. This is the problem.

“I think we did not have what we had in the other games. We did not control the game better than them.”

Sokratis also talked about the upcoming Chelsea game and it’s important on the race to finish in the top four.

“It is, in no uncertain terms, a must-win game,” Sokratis added

“If we want to be in the top four we have to work together,” noted Sokratis.

“Chelsea is another game and we have to regroup — a lot — if we want to do something. It will be a difficult game but if we want to be up there, we have to win.

“We did not play well [against West Ham].

“All the team was not like the last games. We have to work, we have to look at what our mistakes were and improve for the next games.”
