Man United midfielder Scott McTominay’s supposed foul on Heung-min Son seems to have started a verbal war between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho and we fear things could get nastier in the near future.
United’s first goal of the night was ruled out due to McTominay’s foul on Son during the buildup to the goal and everyone from fans to pundits alike, thought this was one of the more ridiculous decisions that have risen due to VAR.
McTominay’s arm merely brushed Son on the face but the South Korean collapsed onto the pitch as if he was hit by a moving car. And after the match, Solskjaer had a few harsh words to say about the Spurs man.
Talking about the Son incident, Ole said, as quoted: “The game has gone. The game has absolutely gone. We shouldn’t be conned.
“I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his 10 mates to help him up, he won’t get any food. We weren’t conned, the referee was.”
Pundits from Micah Richards to Roy Keane thought the referee gave a really soft foul but Ole’s comments about Son surely did not go down too well with Jose Mourinho.
“In relation to that I just want to say Son is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole,” replied Mourinho to the Solskjaer’s comments.

“Because I think a father you always have to feed. Doesn’t matter what they do. If you have to steal to feed your kids, you steal.
“I’m very, very disappointed and because with me, like we say in Portugal, bread is bread and cheese is cheese, I told Ole already what I think about his comments.
“And I have to tell you that I’m very, very disappointed that in five, six, seven questions you ignore the dimension of that comment.”
Well, Mourinho can whine all he wants but in the end, it was Man United who staged a perfect comeback to pick up all three points and consolidate their second spot on the table. Now, the next thing for Solskjaer to focus on will be to get his side into the next round of the Europa League by beating Granada in midweek.
