Man United face Leicester City in the Premier League on Tuesday and before the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some major thinking to do.

The Red Devils played Aston Villa on Sunday so just 48 hours later they will be facing the Foxes. And if this was not enough pressure then Solskjaer will have to get his side ready to face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday.

This is obviously a nightmare for the Man United manager and speaking ahead of the Leicester City game, the Norwegian has hinted that Tuesday’s team selection is not totally on his own hands.

With not a very big squad at his disposal, Solskjaer is going to take the help of his sports scientists to determine who is likely to feature in the starting line-up against the Foxes.

The Solskjaer said in an interview to MUTV: “Yeah and the boys, how they feel, the sports scientists.

“Common sense might be the most important thing and I know the desire of the boys. They want to play but they can’t see the dangers of playing.

“I’ve got to manage this well and we have a group, a big group, that has worked together all year. Some haven’t played enough and it’s time to step forward and get your games.

They’ve got that motivation every day of the week, they’re training well, fighting to be in the team and disappointed when they don’t [play]. The squad is stronger and better. The players have to look over their shoulders – he wants my place and he wants my place.”

Harry Maguire is already ruled out with an injury and the last thing Solskjaer will want is to lose someone like Pogba or Bruno Fernandes on Tuesday.

So, it’s safe to predict that fringe players like Amad Diallo and Juan Mata are expected to come into the starting line-up today and even the manager has hinted at some much-needed rotations.

Ole said in his pre-match press conference: “They’re in contention [Amad and Shoretire] yeah, definitely and they’re in the first team squad, they’re training with us every day so I would think that some of the young boys will get an appearance definitely. If it’s coming on towards the end or if it’s starting I don’t know because I don’t know how the players will be on Tuesday when we see them.”
