Spurs travel to Anfield this weekend to take on Liverpool in the English Premier League.

A couple of months ago, the Lilywhites alongside Liverpool and City were fighting a three horse race for the Premier League title. But just like every other season, Pochettino’s men bottled it.

Right now Spurs are third on the league table and they are more close to sixth-placed Chelsea than they are to leaders Liverpool.

Pochettino is expected to name his best eleven at Anfield this weekend but it seems like the international break has caused a fair bit of damage to the Argentinian’s plans.

Eric Dier was the first major casualty during the international break after the midfielder picked up thigh problem while playing for England.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate had confirmed that Eric Dier returned back to Spurs after England’s first game during the break and right now there is a heavy doubt whether the midfielder will feature vs Liverpool this Sunday.

Serge Aurier also picked up a hamstring injury while playing for Ivory Coast and while some reports claim that the full-back could make it to the matchday squad, it is highly unlikely that we will see him in the first XI.

Harry Winks has been recovering from a hip flexor strain but he should be fully fit and ready to take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Dele Alli had just returned from injury before the international break and many Spurs fans were sceptical over his participation for England.

But the forward has played all the games for England without any damage which means he is a guaranteed starter on Sunday in the Premier League.

If Spurs lose this game vs the Reds then there is every possibility that Arsenal move above them on the table and the Lilywhites end the weekend at fourth on the league table.
