Spurs fought heroically against Liverpool to pick up a draw and that one point means they still have a slender chance of making it into the top-four of the Premier League table.

Next up, Spurs take on Arsenal in the North London Derby and they will have to win this match at any cost if they wish to remain in the hunt for Champions League next season.

Arsenal are in peak form right now but even Spurs have managed to steady their ship with two draws and one win in their last three matches. The Lilywhites are four points behind the Gunners so anything other than a win will not be good enough for them on Thursday night.

Conte’s players played with a lot of heart at Anfield but since they go into this North London Derby as the underdogs they have no other option but to throw the kitchen sink at their arch-rivals. Both these sides will have two more matches to play after the derby and if Spurs cannot hold Arsenal this week then they will have to be content with a place in the Europa League next season.

Spurs early team news vs Arsenal:

Against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur played with a low block and a counter-attacking tactic but Antonio Conte will ask his players to use a more pragmatic approach when the Gunners come to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Attack will be the need of the hour on Thursday night because the onus will be on Spurs to take the lead and possibly hold onto it.

Davison Sanchez was brought on in the final quarter to protect the lead against Liverpool but he will promptly move to the bench as Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies make up the three-man backline.

Bentancur and Hojbjerg were brilliant in central midfield on Saturday but Antonio Conte will also have Harry Winks as a backup. Oliver Skipp is obviously out for the rest of the season with a groin injury.

Full-backs Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon are both out of action as well but Sessegnon and Emerson Royal have done a brilliant job as their backups.

Harry Kane, Son and Kulusevski have formed a formidable trio for Spurs and there’s no way Lucas Moura will even come close to the starting lineup – unless of the three pick up an untimely injury.

Spurs predicted line up vs Arsenal:

Predicted Starting XI(3-4-3): Hugo Lloris; Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon, Emerson Royal; Harry Kane, Son, Kulusevski.
