Spurs take on Chelsea at home on Sunday and this match will be very important for the Lilywhite’s Champions League hopes next season.

Tottenham are currently fourth on the Premier League table, one point ahead of Newcastle United. However, they are seven points behind the third spot which is why the North London side cannot afford to drop any more points. Also, the Magpies have played one game less than Conte’s side and if they win that then Spurs will slide out of the UCL spots.

On paper, Chelsea are a top-class team but they are in terrible form right now. The Blues are winless in their previous five games in all competitions so this is the perfect time for Spurs to face them.

Antonio Conte won’t be in the dugout as he recovers from surgery so Cristian Stellini will take charge of the team. Conte’s absence has not been a big problem so far but against a team like Chelsea, all that could change very swiftly. Spurs need to pick up all three points at any cost because the last thing they will want is to fight teams like Newcastle and Fulham for a top-four position.

Tottenham’s team news and injuries against Chelsea:

The injury list thankfully remains unchanged with Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Sessegnon still unavailable for selection.

The absence of Bentancur and Bissouma is the major cause of concern for Spurs because, without these two players, Oliver Skipp will have to partner Hojbjerg in the middle of the pitch. This pairing might be good enough vs a team like West Ham but against Chelsea, there will be serious question marks.

Ben Davies had a great game against the Hammers as the left wing-back but we think, Ivan Perisic is going to be called back into the starting line up.

Son started on the bench against West Ham United but the forward did come on in the 68th minute and score a goal. However, we don’t think Antonio Conte will hand a start to Son because the South Korean has not been in great form this season.

Apart from these two rotations, we don’t think the Spurs boss will change anything on Sunday.

Spurs predicted line up vs Chelsea:

Predicted Starting XI: Forster; Lenglet, Dier, Romero; Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Royal, Perisic/Davies; Richarlison/Son, Kulusevski; Harry Kane.
