3-5-2 Spurs’ predicted line up vs Manchester United: Is Richarlison ruled out?

Spurs have now picked up three wins on the trot but this record could be under threat because they will now face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Tottenham are currently third on the Premier League table and they are just four points away from league leaders Arsenal. However, they will need to win in order to maintain the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester City.

Spurs are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 league matches and based on current form, they will go into this game as the favourites but Man United have beaten the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal this season so they know what it takes to stop a free-flowing team.

A loss for Conte’s men will be a big blow because not only will Man City and Arsenal get a chance to widen the gap at the top but at the same time, teams like Chelsea and Man United will be breathing down Spurs’ neck.

Spurs’ team news and absentees:

Antonio Conte will be without some notable absentees on Wednesday night and one of them is Emerson Royal who is suspended for this encounter.

Japhet Tanganga is also ruled out due to a knock.

However, more than these defensive absentees the Spurs boss will be worried about the attacking areas.

Richarlison was forced off in Saturday’s win over Everton and Conte has revealed that the summer signing will not be fit for the Man United game.

The manager said in his press conference: ‘Richy has his injury, it’s not a serious injury, but he needs a bit of time to recover. He was really worried after the game against Everton.’

Dejan Kulusevski missed the weekend game due to a muscle injury and he remains a doubt for Wednesday’s trip to Old Trafford.

Conte said: ‘He needs a bit of time to recover. The medical department are working in a strong way to give me the possibility to have an important player in my choice, but we have to wait.’

Richarlison is already ruled out and if Kulusevski is not fit either then the Spurs boss could opt for a change in formation – adding three midfielders and playing with two frontmen.
