Spurs are slowly and steadily picking up pace this season in the Premier League and after that win over Aston Villa, they are now four points off the top of the table.
Next up, the Lilywhites take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park and Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking for another three points on Sunday.
Newcastle United are buzzing thanks to their new ownership so Steve Bruce is under immense pressure to deliver results. Massive changes are expected in the squad but right now they still have a very average side which unfortunately is not strong enough to challenge Tottenham Hotspur.
Having said that though, Spurs will be without several key first-team players due to the late ending of the international break so Nuno will have to bring in some fringe players into the starting line-up. And this could very well give Newcastle United a slight upper hand on Sunday.
Spurs team news vs Newcastle United:
Christian Romero and Emerson Royal will both miss out due to their involvement for their national sides so Joe Rondon will come into the side, partnering Eric Dier in central defence. Emerson will be replaced by Tanganga at right-back.
Dele Alli has failed to deliver under the new manager and like the Villa game, Ndombele will once again operate as the attacking midfielder on Sunday.

Lo Celso is another player who will be involved in national duty and will not make it back in time to face Newcastle United.
Oliver Skipp and Hojbjerg will pair up in defensive midfield and these two are fast becoming the first-choice midfield pivot for the Spurs boss.
Lucas Moura and Son will operate as the two wide attackers with Harry Kane playing as the main centre-forward.
Kane has been very average this season in the Premier League as he’s failed to score even a single goal so far but there’s no way the Spurs boss will dare to put him on the bench. Also, Steven Bergwijn is out injured.
