Spurs have picked up only four points from their first four matches in the Premier League and last weekend, they suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal. Now, they will have to pick up momentum once again because this weekend, Tottenham take on Brentford in another home game.

Spurs were looking really positive at the start of the campaign but most of that optimism has vanished after the loss in the derby. The Lilywhites are currently 13th in the table, and if they fail to secure all three points on Saturday, they could find themselves just above the relegation zone.

Brentford’s last game was a loss to Manchester City but they did manage to take the lead against the Champions so Tottenham will have their work cut out. Ange Postecoglou has confidently stated that he always secures trophies in his second season at a club. However, at the moment, Spurs are far from being contenders in any major competition.

Tottenham Hotspur’s team news and injuries:

Tottenham played an EFL Cup game in midweek which they won 2-1 but Ange rested most of his regular starters in that game.

Romero, Van de Ven and Pedro Porro did not feature against Coventry but they will all come into the starting lineup on Saturday.

Yves Bissouma missed the North London Derby due to an injury but the midfielder should be available for the Brentford game. If the 28-year-old is cleared to start then he will replace Bentancur.

Postecoglou had said before the Arsenal game, as quoted: “If he doesn’t make Sunday, then I’ll assume he’ll be right for after that. At the same time, he’s just come off a long flight, you never feel great anyway, we’ll see how he trains tomorrow and that will give the best indication.”

Kulusevski and James Maddison were rested in midweek so they will also come back while Timo Werner is going to make way for Son on the left flank.

Richarlison is recovering from a muscle injury and it remains to be seen if he will fit in time or not. If the Brazilian international is unavailable then Ben Johnson and Solanke will both start.

Spurs predicted lineup vs Brentford:

Predicted Starting Lineup(4-3-3): Vicario; Van de Ven, Romero, Udogie, Porro; Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison; Son, Solanke, Johnson.
