Champions League Vertonghen Tottenham Spurs news
Vertonghen Spurs

Spurs drew yet another game in the English Premier League, this time against 18th placed AFC Bournemouth. And with this poor form, they will now welcome North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

The Lilywhites are currently ninth on the league table – one point behind the Gunners so if Mourinho’s men manage to pick up all three points they will move one step closer to playing in the Europa League next season.

But this match will be no walk in the park for the home side since not only are they playing really poorly at this moment but on the other hand, Arsenal have not lost a match since going down to Brighton away from home.

Jose Mourinho has more or less a fully-fit squad to choose from but there are few absentees which could prove to be a bit of a headache for the Lilywhites manager.

Spurs team news vs Arsenal:

Eric Dier is ruled out due to suspension meaning Jan Vertonghen will keep his place in central defence alongside Toby Alderweireld on Sunday.

Tanganga is still recovering from his lower back injury and will only be back in training next week while Foyth is also ruled out with a knee injury.

Ben Davies and Serge Aurier are more or less regular features under Jose Mourinho and the two full-backs will reprise their roles vs the Gunners.

With Dele Alli doubtful with a thigh injury, the midfield trio will hopefully remain unchanged for Spurs with Harry Winks and Sissoko playing in central midfield and Lo Celso playing a bit further upfront.

Bergwijn operated on the left flank vs the Cherries in midweek but the January signing will make way for Son Heung-Min and Erik Lamela will also move to the bench as Lucas Moura takes back his place in the starting line-up.

Harry Kane has been really underwhelming since the restart but the forward is an automatic selection for Jose Mourinho on Sunday.
