Spurs were humbled 3-1 by Manchester United last week in the Premier League but they will look to get back to winning ways on Friday when they face Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur are now six points behind the final Champions League spot after that loss to United meaning this game vs Everton will be a do-or-die for Jose Mourinho’s side. Anything other than a win will mean Spurs could be playing in the Europa League next season as well.

Jose Mourinho is under heavy pressure to deliver top-level European football next season and if his side go down to Everton then there’s a big chance that the Portuguese could be trying to save his job in their next couple of fixtures.

Tottenham are undefeated in 16 of their last 17 matches against Everton in all competitions and Ancelotti’s side are winless in their previous five matches so this is a golden opportunity for the North London club to pick up a win and maintain the pressure on the likes of Chelsea and West Ham United.

Spurs team news vs Everton:

Jose Mourinho chose to trust Eric Dier in central defence alongside Joe Rodon and the England international ended up having a really poor game vs Man United. The manager is not expected to make this mistake again meaning Toby Alderweireld should come back into the side in place of Dier.

Serge Aurier came back into the side against United and him along with Reguilon will keep their place in the starting line-up against Everton as well.

Moussa Sissoko came off the bench on Sunday with Ndombele and Hojbjerg starting in midfield. And against Everton, we expect a similar arrangement.

Lo Celso seems to be the current favourite for the Tottenham Hotspur manager in that number nine role and the 25-year-old is expected to keep the likes of Erik Lamela and Gareth Bale on the bench once again.

The front three pretty much selects themselves with Moura and Son operating down the wings and Harry Kane playing upfront.

Jose Mourinho has received a lot of stick for being too defensive against the bigger sides but the manager doesn’t care too much about his critics so it will not be a major surprise if the Spurs boss asks his players to sit back deep and hit Everton on the counter on Friday.
