Jose Mourinho tactics to be used in the FA Cup final?
Jose Mourinho

Spurs are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table and next up they take on Liverpool who are behind them in the second spot(just based on goal difference).

Tottenham go into this game at the back of a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace but the good news for Mourinho is that he will be facing a Liverpool side which has a massively depleted first-team squad.

Tottenham are undefeated in their last 11 matches in the Premier League but they have not managed to beat Liverpool in their previous five meetings across all competitions.

Against Palace, Mourinho used a 4-2-3-1 formation but in midweek at Anfield, the Portuguese is expected to go ahead with a three-man defensive line – relying mostly on counter-attacking football.

Spurs team news vs Liverpool:

Alderweireld and Eric Dier played in central defence during the weekend but the pair is likely to be joined by Joe Rondon at Anfield.

The use of wingbacks would mean Reguilon and Aurier could move to the bench as Ben Davies and Matt Doherty come into the starting XI.

Erik Lamela is ruled out of the Liverpool game with a calf injury meaning Lo Celso has the chance to start in midfield – if Jose Mourinho chooses to rest Ndombele.

Sissoko and Hojbjerg are automatic selections for Spurs since Jose Mourinho will be relying on a deep-lying defensive line to stop the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

Gareth Bale missed the Crystal Palace game due to illness but the Welshman is expected to return to the first-team squad in midweek.

The return of Bale will be a huge bonus for the Spurs boss but we doubt if Mourinho will be eager to break up the partnership of Son and Harry Kane up front.

The duo have been in sizzling form over the past couple of months meaning Bale will only find a place on the bench and might come on during the second half of the match.
