Spurs take on Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend and anything other than a win will make it even more difficult for the North London side to finish in the top-four this season.

The Lilywhites go into this game at the back of 5-4 loss to Everton in the FA Cup and to make matters worse, Man City are undefeated in their last 6 home matches against Tottenham in all competitions.

City are sitting pretty at the top of the league table with 50 points and after their FA Cup win over Swansea, Guardiola’s side have now won 15 matches in a row.

Jose Mourinho will face an uphill battle in trying to pick up a win at the Etihad this weekend and given City’s form right now, the Spurs boss might be more than happy if his side can return to London even with a point.

Spurs team news vs Man City:

Mourinho has admitted that Eric Dier is currently having a lack of confidence which is why he remained an unused sub against Everton in midweek.

But given the impact he’s had this season, the 27-year-old should come back into the side, playing in central defence alongside Toby Alderweireld. Jose also has the option of using Joe Rodon if Dier is not a 100% confident.

Serge Aurier wasn’t fit enough to be involved in the FA Cup clash but he should be ready for the Man City game.

Ndombele played in central midfield against Everton but he will move further up the pitch against City as Moussa Sissoko comes back into the starting line-up, alongside Hojbjerg.

Dele Alli featured off the bench against Everton but the England international is not expected to play any part at the Etihad this weekend.

Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura both got starts in that FA Cup loss in midweek but the pair will drop back to the bench as Harry Kane comes back into the side, forcing Son to take up his usual on the left wing.

Lamela scored a goal against Carlo Ancelotti’s side which is why some experts feel he could be named in the first XI this weekend but we think Jose Mourinho will name Bergwijn on the right wing so that Spurs have can use his pace on the counter attacks.

Gareth Bale missed the Everton game and might not be available for selection this weekend against Manchester City as well.
