Tottenham Hotspur have made their best ever start to a Premier League campaign yet they find themselves fourth on the league table.

Spurs are currently five points behind league leaders Man City and this weekend they host Chelsea who are yet to lose a game in the Premier League.

Before the game though, Mauricio Pochettinho has some serious headache regarding his team selection as he is set to miss five key players.

Spurs vs Chelsea: Injury update

The first big miss will be centreback Davinson Sanchez who is recovering from a hamstring injury and might have to sit out the match against Chelsea.

Reports suggest that Sanchez will go through a late fitness test on Saturday but as things stand the defender is out.

Kieran Trippier is also likely to miss the Spurs vs Chelsea clash as he recovers from a groin injury. Unlike Davinson Sanchez, Trippier’s injury is a bit more serious and Pochettino might have to do without the England international.

Defender Jan Vertonghen has also been nursing a hamstring injury and he remains a long-term absentee.

The 31-year-old centre-back picked up the injury in September and has so far missed 13 games for the Lilywhites. He is expected to make a comeback sometime next month.

Midfielder Mousa Dembele is another long-term absentee and will hopefully return to full fitness in January of 2019.

Full-back Danny Rose has a groin strain but his injury is not very serious meaning the England international could start the Spurs vs Chelsea game on Saturday.

Spurs were the only team who did not sign a single player during the summer transfer window and with so many injuries cropping up, Mauricio Pochettino might have some thinking to do.
