Harry Kane ran through the Leicester City defense on a rainy night as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed the Foxes 6-1.

Spurs might have lost out in the Premier League race but that did not affect their performance against the Foxes. Pochettino’s men ran through Leicester City like a hot knife through butter. OK! That was a cliche.

The night belonged to one man though. And it was Harry Kane. Kane scored four goals on the night and reached a very important milestone. The Englishman is now only the fifth player to have scored 25 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons.

The other two goals came through Heung-min(36′,71′) who effectively added the cherry on the top of the celebration cake.

Kane joins an elite group:

Harry Kane’s four goals against the Foxes has effectively made him a member of an elite Premier League club.

He is now the fifth player to score 25 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons. The other four players on the list are Robbie Fowler, Robin Van Persie, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer.

Kane’s four goals also meant that he had now as many Premier League hat tricks as Cristiano Ronaldo, Dennis Bergkamp, Gianfranco Zola, Diego Costa and Eric Cantona combined.

What next for Spurs?

Spurs have missed out on the title yet again. But Pochettino will definitely take out a lot of positives from the current season. The win against the Foxes was their 25th win of the season

Pochettino will definitely try to offload a bunch of first team players owing to high salary issues. And one of them will certainly be Kyle Walker. Walker has been linked to a series of Premier League clubs and will likely leave Spurs in the summer.

Another headache for Pochettino will be to try and hold on to Hugo Lloris. Lloris has been a subject of interest from various clubs. And Manchester United seem to be at the front of the queue. United will most likely lose David De Gea to Real Madrid during the summer. And the Red Devils are currently on the lookout for a suitable replacement.

A big plus point for Spurs this season has definitely been the combination of Kane and Alli. Together they have managed to score 43 Premier League goals during the season. And if they can replicate their current form come the next season then Spurs will definitely be able to win the title.
