Maurizio Sarri has parted ways with Chelsea and has taken charge of Juventus and now the Blues are on the hunt for their new boss.

While a number of names have been linked with the Stamford Bridge outfit, but most publications claim that Blues legend Frank Lampard is likely to take up the job.

Frank Lampard has been managing Derby County and he almost too the club into the Premier League.

But with Lampard now seemingly moving out, Derby are in search of an ideal replacement and it looks like they have set their eyes upon Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard was appointed the Gers boss last summer and this past season, he has done a decent enough job at Ibrox.

Even though Rangers have not managed to pick up any silverware but most pundits claim that the way Steven Gerrard has gone about his business, the Teddy Bears will be a force to reckon with next campaign.

Challenging the might of Celtic have surely appealed to Derby County as they have made contact with Steven Gerrard to become their manager in case Frank Lampard heads to Chelsea.

But as per the Times, the Rangers manager has already rejected to move to England this summer.

The report states: “Steven Gerrard has made it clear he is committed to Rangers after rejecting the opportunity to speak to Derby County about the manager’s job at Pride Park.

“The Championship club are making contingency plans in case Frank Lampard leaves for Chelsea this summer and had identified Gerrard as a potential replacement for his former England team-mate.”

UPDATE:

After the report from the Times, Rangers were quick to come up with a response and they have made it clear that Steven Gerrard has not been approached by Derby.

A Rangers spokesman said(via the Sun): “Let’s get one or two things clear.

“Our manager has not been approached and he remains 100 per cent committed to the job that he has here.”
