Rangers FC are currently in a heavy remodelling phase under new manager Steven Gerrard and keeping in line with this, news has started coming in that the Ibrox outfit are planning to release a couple of existing players.

The players that have their names on that exit list are the ones who are have not been performing up to the standards of the club but it seems there is one player who is likely to move out of Ibrox despite being one of their star performers.

According to the latest reports, Championship side Swansea City are planning to make a move for right-back James Tavernier.

Tavernier joined the Ibrox outfit back in 2015 from Wigan Athletic and since then the full-back has made himself an integral part of the Rangers squad.

In the three seasons that he has played with Rangers James Tavernier has played 125 games in all competitions – scoring 23 goals and there’s very little doubt that the 26-year-old is currently one of the best right-backs in the Scottish league.

Transfer markets are all about teams knocking on the doors of other teams to find out if some of their players are available or not.

And in most cases, players who are not required are sold out. But in this scenario, Rangers are interested in offloading James Tavernier – atleast the reports claim so.

Rangers have come to the conclusion that it is time to cash in on the 26-year-old and are willing to sell him off during the summer transfer window for a transfer fee which is expected to be in the region of 3 million pounds.

Yes, 3 million pounds.

The Gers are reportedly quoting a price for James Tavernier which at best can be considered a steal in today’s transfer market.

Swansea City were one of the three sides to be relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 season and now the Welsh side is looking to rebuild their squad.

With a move down to the Championship, Swansea are sure to face a substantial budget cut but if they are receiving James Tavernier from Rangers for just 3 million pounds then they shouldn’t be having second thoughts.
