Tammy Abraham picked up an injury while playing against Arsenal last week which forced him to miss the FA Cup clash vs Hull City on Saturday.

And right now there have been doubts over his participation this weekend as well when Chelsea travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City in the Premier League.

Earlier this week, a report in The Telegraph had suggested that Frank Lampard might ask Tammy Abraham to play through the pain barrier on Saturday.

While the Chelsea manager does have the option of using Michy Batshuayi up front but according to the Telegraph, Lampard wants to go with Tammy Abraham even if he is not a 100 per cent simply because Chelsea go into an international break after this game.

Now though, it looks like the reports could hold true since the Blues boss has hinted that Abraham has continued his training despite feeling pain due to the injury.

The manager told the press: ‘Tammy trained today and felt okay.

‘We need to see if there’s a reaction because it’s a pain injury, there’s a lot of pain and even in training he has pain.

‘I’m going to look at that one overnight and test him in the morning but he did get out there today, which is a positive in the longer-term.’

It is still unclear whether Frank Lampard will opt to use Tammy Abraham from the start or use him as a second-half sub.

But one thing’s for sure, the manager does not want to keep anything to chance against a team like Leicester City more so with the likes of Sheffield United, Spurs and Manchester United breathing down their neck.
