Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of losing Harry Kane in the coming months and according to former PL midfielder Danny Murphy, 23-year-old Tammy Abraham could be the ideal replacement.
Kane has recently hinted that he could be looking for a new challenge next season and this has given rise to numerous transfer rumours about clubs like Man United and Manchester City wanting to sign the England international during the summer window.
While Levy is not ready to sell Kane just yet but most pundits believe Spurs are going to have to part ways with the centre-forward this summer itself. And according to Murphy, Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham could be the ideal replacement.
“I think Harry Kane is going to go to Man City,” Murphy said on talkSPORT.
“Before we were talking about Tammy Abraham and what a signing he’d be for someone like Tottenham.
“If Kane is going to go… Tammy is a goalscorer.”
Can Tammy Abraham replace Harry Kane at Spurs?
Fitting into Kane’s shoes will be nearly impossible for any centre-forward but if we are talking about a like-for-like player then Tammy Abraham certainly fits the bill.
At one point in time, the 23-year-old was touted as the next best thing in England but under Thomas Tuchel he has fallen way down the pecking order and there’s no denying that Chelsea are more than ready to sell him off in the summer.
Aston Villa, a club where he had spent some loan time, are said to be the frontrunners in signing Tammy Abraham in the summer but if Spurs are interested in him then Villa might not stand any chance.

Harry Kane is the main front man for Spurs right now and if he leaves, a major position in the first-team will open up. And given that Tammy Abraham will be looking for regular playing time next season, the forward could very well be drawn towards North London rather than Villa Park.
Also, if Kane is sold, Levy will bag an enormous transfer fee which he can then use to outbid teams like Aston Villa in the race to sign Abraham.
The Chelsea misfit has scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists in 82 games for Chelsea which is a decent enough return given that he has not been a regular feature for the Blues.
