West Ham set to hold talks with this 23 Y/O striker despite Arsenal being the favourites to sign him

West Ham United are set to hold talks with Chelsea about the signing of Tammy Abraham despite Arsenal being the favourites to land him right now, as per journalist Ekrem Konur.

The Gunners are the bookies’ favourites to acquire the services of the centre-forward but as per the journalist, the Hammers have put Abraham at the top of their priority list.

Konur wrote on Twitter: “West Ham have prioritised the transfer of Tammy Abraham. West Ham want to sign Tammy Abraham on loan with a buyout option.

“West Ham manager will hold talks with Chelsea and Abraham’s manager next week.”

Will Tammy Abraham choose West Ham or Arsenal?

Ideally, Arsenal will be the better choice for the striker(in the long run) and according to The Sun, the Gunners are expected to land him on a one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy next year.

“That would be a good move,” former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant said about the striker joining his former club. “Tuchel is not a fan of him. I’ve heard people talk about being patient and fighting for your place but it’s difficult.

“If a manager is not interested, you have to move on. A team like Arsenal, he wouldn’t have to go far for his family. It’s a perfect move.

“He’s something Arsenal need. He’s English, he’s young, the price is always a little bit more anyway for English pedigree. I think it’s a good signing. Arsenal would be a perfect fit.”

The Hammers though can offer regular playing time as well as European football next season, something which might tempt Tammy Abraham to snub a move to North London and join David Moyes’ side.

West Ham are now expected to launch a formal bid for the Chelsea striker so it will be interesting to see if the Gunners still remain the favourites to sign the England international.

Also, Arsenal will need to get rid of Alexandre Lacazette before they can truly convince Tammy Abraham to choose them over all the other suitors.
