Man United were knocked out of the FA Cup this weekend by Chelsea and their No 1 David De Gea was at fault once again.

The Spanish keeper made some silly errors which helped Chelsea take a 2-0 lead in the match and then the Blues eventually went on to win the semi-final 3-1.

David De Gea has been poor all throughout the season and once again there have been whispers about selling the Spaniard and bringing in Dean Henderson as their new keeper in the 2020-21 season.

Many people though have argued if Henderson can handle the pressure of becoming the No 1 keeper at a club like Manchester United so early on in his career but according to his former coach Ben Benson, the 23-year-old can be the next big thing at Old Trafford.

“I am sure the pressure is different at Manchester United”, Benson told The Athletic, as reported.

“I sit here and think, ‘If there is one person who will be able to deal with it, that person is Dean’.

“Whether they choose to do that now or not, is up to them. I don’t know their thinking but I am in no doubt he will be fine.

“Dean’s two loans [at Bramall Lane] have been great for him. As he has been for Sheffield United. Same with Manchester United, who have done a wonderful job with him.

“If Dean can continue doing what he has been doing — and that is the challenge, of course, to keep finding those extra percentages — the sky really is the limit for him.”

With the way David De Gea has been performing so far this season, there’s every chance he will be shown the door pretty soon and if this exit happens in the summer then it will be really bad news for Sheffield United.

Henderson has been really great during his current stint at Bramall Lane and the Blades have an arrangement of bringing him back to the club on yet another loan spell next season.

So if Solskjaer is really looking to part ways with David De Gea then surely Chris Wilder is going to miss out on his current No 1 which is going to be a bit of a setback to his plans.
