Former Chelsea playmaker and brother of Eden Hazard – Thorgan Hazard has claimed in a statement that he still wishes to play for Chelsea.

The 24-year-old spent three years with Chelsea but he failed to make a single appearance for the Blues. His time at Stamford Bridge was mostly spent on loans away to Zulte Waregem and Borussia Monchengladbach and then he eventually made a move out of London by making his loan deal with Monchengladbach permanent in 2015. But since then the attacking midfielder has made a name for himself in Germany and in a recent statement, he has said that he still wishes to represent Chelsea one day.

When Hazard moved to the Bundesliga many claimed that Chelsea had put a buy-back clause in his contract. While talking to One Mondial, he said that even though he was not sure about the buy-back clause he still hoped that he will play for Chelsea in the future.

“To be honest, even I don’t know if there is one,” he told One Mondial.

“My father deals with that now. Sometimes, I hear there is one. Here, I’m told there isn’t. Frankly, I don’t know.

“It’s not that I don’t care, but I don’t think about it. I’m happy here. If Chelsea want to buy me back one day, I think they’ll do it, that’s not an issue.

“Actually, if there is or isn’t one, it’s the same, really. If Chelsea want me, they’ll pay for my transfer and they’ll take me back. It’s just a detail.”

“I’m glad, because I hope to still play for Chelsea. That remains a goal. I am focusing on excelling at Borussia Monchengladbach, but I still hope to play for Chelsea one day.”

In the current campaign Hazard has made just 15 appearances for Monchengladbach and he has already managed to score 6 goals and has 6 assists.
