Three players are likely to leave Chelsea before the 21/22 season kicks off: Who are they?

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is planning to bring in some fresh faces into the first-team squad this summer but for that to happen, he will first have to clear out a lot of the dead woods.

The Blues have been linked with several great players over the past few weeks but at the same time, a lot of their existing players have been tipped to move out of the club as well.

And according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, three Chelsea players are being actively pursued by top European clubs and there’s a big chance all of them are going to head out before the new season begins.

He wrote for Twitter: “Chelsea will receive €28.5m for Fikayo Tomori leaving the club on a permanent deal.

“AC Milan are also negotiating with Olivier Giroud agents, while Lazio are interested in Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan.”

Fikayo Tomori has shone on loan at AC Milan during the second half of the 2020-21 season which is why Milan are interested in triggering the option to buy clause and sign him on a permanent deal.

€28.5 million seems to be a pretty good price for a defender who is way down the pecking order at Chelsea right now and we see this deal going through without any major hiccups.

The Olivier Giroud one is a bit more complicated since Chelsea have activated their one-year extension clause in his contract a couple of months ago so he will only be a free agent next summer.

But still, the French striker has refused to rule out a move to AC Milan this summer.

He said in a recent interview: “I want to make it clear that Chelsea reactivated the clause in April, and they recently announced it to comply with Premier League rules.

“It’s fair to remember that I liked [Milan legends] Marco van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko. Milan are a big club and one of the great teams in Europe.

“But, today, I will not talk about my future at the club because I am focused on the France team and the Euros, which is fast approaching.”

The Stamford Bridge outfit should not have an issue in letting him leave either but Premier League sides Aston Villa are also being linked with the midfielder so the player as well as the Chelsea might have a big decision to make.

Ideally, if this is a loan move then Loftus-Cheek will want to remain in England next season but Maurizio Sarri is a huge admirer of the England international so he is likely to get much more playing time at Lazio.
