The report claims: “Bayern Munich have set their sights on signing Chelsea striker Timo Werner, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
“The Bundesliga giants are in the market for a centre-forward who can provide cover and competition for Roman Lewandowski and can eventually replace him.
“A German source has told Football Insider that Bayern have a “concrete interest” in luring Werner, 25, from Stamford Bridge this summer.”
Will Tuchel allow Timo Werner to leave this summer?
Robert Lewandowski is reaching the twilight of his playing career so it only makes sense that Bayern Munich are already out in the market, searching for a long-term replacement.
It was under Nagelsmann that Timo Werner hit his peak form at RB Leipzig which is perhaps the biggest reason why Bayern Munich have registered an interest in the German international.
Werner had been blowing hot and cold for Chelsea during the 2020-21 season and since the Blues have been linked with Robert Lewandowski, some rumours claim a swap deal might be possible.

This remains a viable option since a swap deal will perfectly align both the clubs’ interests but we doubt if the Bundesliga side will be ready to let their biggest asset leave so abruptly.
Also, Timo Werner is going to be a gamble signing for Bayern Munich and there’s a big chance he might fail to deliver in the Bundesliga as well, Hence, the last thing Nagelsmann will want is to get stuck with without a proper backup.
Thomas Tuchel had been able to stabilize Werner’s performances towards the end of the previous season so there’s also a big chance the Chelsea manager might refuse to sanction his sale this summer.
