Manchester United Victor Lindelof centre-back played with a prolonged back injury throughout the previous season but according to the Swedish international, he has fully recovered from this niggling injury.

The 27-year-old played in 45 games across all competitions last campaign and most of it was with this lower-back pain. The defender even missed a handful of games due to this injury and this was a big blow for Manchester United since Victor Lindelof was the first-choice central defender for the club.

But Lindelof has now returned to pre-season training and has revealed that his back injury will not be an issue during the 2021/22 season.

He told the club’s official website: “I feel much better now. I’ve been working very hard on my back especially during the break.

“I struggled a lot with it last season and had to really play through it.

“I played a game and then would need to rest for a couple of days and then it was straight into another game. That was tough, but like I say I’ve been working very hard with different types of exercises and treatment, and I feel much better.”

Manchester United have obviously signed Raphael Varane this summer and the Frenchman is going to be the main central defender alongside Maguire this season.

So, Victor Lindelof will not have to play week-in-week-out for the senior squad. This will ensure he remains fully fit and ready whenever called upon.

Man United are attacking on all fronts during the 21/22 season, including the Champions League, so the Swede will get to feature in a number of matches throughout the campaign.
