The FIFA World Cup 2018 kicked off at the Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday with a gala opening ceremony headlined by singer Robbie Williams’ ‘middle-finger’ action and followed by Russia’s 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.

Did you read that right? Did we just write, Robbie Williams’ ‘middle-finger’ action?

Yes, we did.

Because the former Take That member flipped the middle finger during his performance on live tv.

The 44-year-old singer and actor was performing his chartbusters in the middle of the pitch at the Luzhniki stadium that is when the camera panned towards him for a close-up.

And while millions of fans were watching at home, Williams flipped his middle finger.

Robbie Williams’ ‘middle-finger’ action has caught the attention of the world and why not. Even the English squad members seemed to enjoy the singers’ antics.

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker was one English player who had a good laugh after watching the incident on Tv from England’s base in Repino.

After Robbie Williams’ ‘middle-finger’ action, Walker immediately put out a tweet trolling his England teammate Dele Alli.

Alli did a similar thing with his salute against Slovakia, which earned the player a one-match ban.

Kyle Walker wrote: “So nice of Robbie to say hello to @dele_official !”

But clearly, the world hasn’t heard the last of Robbie Williams’ ‘middle-finger’ action.
