Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will accept the charge put on him by the FA for misconduct during the game against Burnley. And if reports are to believed then he will appeal for a personal hearing so that he can request for a lenient punishment.
Arsene Wenger was sent to the stand by the referee during the dying minutes of the game but rather than leaving he chose to watch the remainder from the tunnel. When the fourth official went to tell him that he had could not stand there, he misbehaved with the official.
FA might not be lenient:
Arsenal Wenger said that he thought that he could watch the match from the tunnel. But he also added that he was big enough to accept when he is wrong. Wenger knows very well that the FA looks into these kinds of incidents very seriously. Alan Pardew was banned for two matches and also fined 20.000 pounds. This happened back in 2012 when Pardew shoved an assistant referee.
Similar circumstances in 2009?
Wenger also pointed out to the incident in 2009. When he was sent off against Manchester United at Old Trafford. And having no clue what to do, he finally had to sit behind the dugout. Wenger will be hoping to escape with only a touchline ban and no heavy fine.
Arsenal next face next face Southampton on Saturday for the FA Cup tie and they will miss the services of Granit Xhaka. As he was also sent off during the Gunners match against Burnley.
