West Ham United beat Man United 2-0 at home on Sunday which now means that the London side are now unbeaten in their last five league games.

The home side did go into this match as slight underdogs but everyone knew that this will be a closely fought battle since Man United were going through a dull period.

And despite, the away side controlling a fair chunk of the game, West Ham managed to make their efforts count as goals from Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell meant the Hammers have won fifth on the league table.

And according to Harry Redknapp, not only do West Ham have a better side than Manchester United right now but if the Red Devils are not careful then the London outfit could very well take their place in the top six at the end of this season.

“It’s a long way back for them, the team is nowhere near good enough,” Redknapp told talkSPORT(as quoted by HITC).

“You can talk about Ole, you can criticise the managers but the players he’s got are what they are. You look at that team before the game and thought ‘what an average-looking team’. West Ham’s team looks a better team.

“They’re a very, very average bunch at the moment, I’m afraid.

“They could even fall out of the top six if they’re not careful because Leicester and West Ham they’re the two teams – for me, I’ve said it since day one – could push themselves into a top six position this season,”

Verdict:

During the past two seasons, West Ham United made really poor starts to their campaign but this year, Pellegrini has finally gotten things straight from the very beginning.

And this good run of games could be a big cause of concern for not only Man United but also for the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Right now, Man United are eight on the league table while the Hammers are tied on points with the likes of Arsenal and Leicester City.
