West Ham United have spent some heavy cash in signing new players ever since Manuel Pellegrini was appointed as the new boss. And now multiple reports had claimed that the Hammers will be offloading a couple of players.

The London outfit need to balance their books after bringing in seven new signings during the summer transfer window which includes the 35 million pound acquisition of Felipe Anderson of Lazio.

And reports were of the view that West Ham were planning to offload winger Michail Antonio to Crystal Palace during the coming few weeks. But now the unexpected injury to Andy Carroll might have thrown a spanner to the deal.

Carroll is expected to be out of action for three whole months and in such a scenario if the Hammers were to sell Michail Antonio to Crystal Palace then Pellegrini will be short of attacking options for the upcoming Premier League season.

It is being reported that West Ham are now giving second thoughts to releasing Michail Antonio and they might very well hold onto the player for six more months until Andy Carroll does not return from injury.

And the club that will be hugely affected by this news is Newcastle United who were pinning their hopes on Michail Antonio joining Crystal Palace so that they can sign Andros Townsend.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson was not sanctioning Townsend’s move to Newcastle simply because the club did not have an alternative.

With Antonio on his way to Palace, multiple publications had claimed that Hodgson would finally release Andros Townsend and let him join Newcastle United.

But now that West Ham have halted the move of their winger across London, Newcastle United might find it extremely difficult to convince Crystal Palace to sell off Andros Townsend.
