West Ham United are on a roll during the 2021/22 season and this weekend they beat Spurs, 1-0 in the Premier League. Their next game though could push them into a defeat as they face Man City in the Carabao Cup.

The Hammers are a totally transformed side under David Moyes and they are surely dreaming of picking up a silverware this time around. But, in Man City, they will be facing one of the best sides in Europe so moving to the next round will not be so easy.

Moyes would love to rest some of his key players after their tough game against Spurs during the weekend but we don’t think the manager will take that risk since Guardiola has already hinted that he’s going to name a strong side on Wednesday.

City are obviously the favourites to win during midweek but they have kept only one clean sheet in their previous five matches so that will surely give West Ham United a lot of hope going into this Round of 16 game.

West Ham United team news vs Man City:

Fabianski is one of those players who will move to the bench since David Moyes has the perfect backup keeper in the form of Areola.

Kurt Zouma has transformed the defence since joining the side during the summer so it will be interesting to see if the manager rests him or not. If the former Chelsea man is rested then Craig Dawson will be the like-for-like replacement.

Ryan Fredericks started on the bench against Spurs and since Vladimir Coufal remains a doubt, Fredericks is likely to start at right-back.

Declan Rice and Soucek are the first-choice midfield pairing for West Ham United and they should hold onto their place against Manchester City. There’s a chance that Moyes uses Mark Moble in midfield but we don’t think this will be the case.

Benrahma did not have the best of outings during the weekend so we expect Lanzini to replace him in the attacking midfielder’s role. Jarrod Bowen and Fornals though will hold onto their place.

Michail Antonio scored against Spurs and the 31-year-old has been leading the line perfectly for West Ham United. And since the London outfit are short on centre-forwards, Antonio is going to play up front against Man City as well.

West Ham United predicted line up vs Man City:

Predicted Starting line up(4-2-3-1): Areola; Cresswell, Diop, Dawson, Fredericks; Soucek, Declan Rice, Lanzini; Fornals, Bowen, Michail Antonio.
