West Ham United are finally picking up pace in the transfer window as they are about to make not one but two signings within the coming week.

Firstly, West Ham United have agreed on a €42 million deal for Gianluca Scamacca and next up, they are focusing on signing Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Filip Kostic.

Moyes’ team had been battling Arsenal for the Sassuolo forward but the Gunners have not been able to lure him in and now, he’s on his way to the London Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: “West Ham and Sassuolo, preparing paperworks for Gianluca Scamacca deal. Full agreement for €36m plus €6m in add-ons. Details on personal terms to be finalised tomorrow.”

With this transfer almost finalized, West Ham United have shifted their focus to the Serbian midfielder.

Romano has claimed that West Ham have already made an official bid for the Kostic and right now, they are discussing personal terms with the player.

The Italian expert wrote: “West Ham are discussing personal terms with Filip Kostić after official proposal submitted yesterday. Talks are progressing well, but deal is not done or completed yet.”

Two very important signings for West Ham United?

The Hammers had an underwhelming previous season and this is a major reason why they have had very minimal transfer activity this summer.

However, the club is finally making waves in the transfer market and both these players can be very integral to David Moyes’ plans next season.

Scamacca scored 16 goals in 38 appearances last season for Sassuolo while Filip Kostic has provided the third highest assists(44) in Europe’s top-five leagues since 2018. Signing a partner for Michail Antonio was of the utmost importance for David Moyes and after missing out on Jesse Lingard, West Ham United have decided to go all out for Kostic.

There’s no denying that both these players will have to adjust to the intensity and ferocity of the Premier League but if they can click then it will be a massive boost for West Ham United.

Missing out on Gianluca Scamacca a big blow for Arsenal?

Arsenal might have signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City but they were still very much interested in signing Gianluca Scamacca.

Lacazette and Aubameyang have left the club and there’s no way Jesus will be able to handle all the pressure for the full season so a player like Scamacca was much-needed. Yes, Mikel Arteta has Eddie Nketiah as the backup striker but we doubt if the manager will put faith in him to help the club get back into the Champions League.

The Gunners are still very much in search of a new centre-forward but missing out on Scamacca is definitely a big blow because the 23-year-old would have been a fine addition to their squad.
