Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has failed to shine at Anfield which is why ex-Red Glen Johnson has urged him to secure a move to West Ham United.

The 27-year-old joined Liverpool in 2017 but so far, he’s managed to play in only 104 games across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And according to Glen Johnson, the England international could unlock his full potential by playing under Hammers boss David Moyes.

Johnson told BettingOdds.com, as quoted: “Yes. Possibly[he can join the Hammers]. West Ham’s a fantastic football club and they will let Alex enjoy his football.

“Obviously the only concern with Ox is that he’s got to stay fit, because he’s a fantastic player with bags of energy and great ability but that’s no good on the treatment table.

“Hopefully his body can get through all of next season. But I think West Ham United and Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a perfect fit.

“Moyes would take the shackles off him, let him go and enjoy himself, and see what he can do. Touch wood Alex can stay fit and get back to his best.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to join West Ham United?

West Ham United will be playing in Europe next season which is why David Moyes is adding a lot of reinforcements to his first-team squad.

And last week, there were reports that the Hammers manager is keeping tabs on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Last season, the 27-year-old played in only 13 Premier League games for Liverpool so ideally, Klopp should let him leave.

But, as per the latest rumours, the Liverpool boss has refused to put Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain up for sale this summer.

Liverpool have just lost Wijnaldum as a free agent and the club are really struggling to bring in a replacement. And maybe this is why the German manager is not ready to take the gamble of sending Chamberlain out.

The midfielder still has two more years left on his current deal so Liverpool do not need to hit the panic button right now. But West Ham United could miss out on a really big signing, more so since his current valuation is perfectly within reach.

Unless the Anfield outfit can bring in a world-class central midfielder in the next few weeks, we do not see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain heading to West Ham United.
