SPFL side Rangers FC might be willing to part ways with centre-back Connor Goldson during the upcoming transfer window – as per Football Insider. And this great news for West Ham United.

Goldson joined Rangers from Brighton two years ago for a fee of £3.06 million and in these past two seasons, the 27-year-old has turned himself into one of the most consistent players under Steven Gerrard.

During the 2019-20 season, the defender has featured in 51 games for the Gers across all competitions but as per Alan Hutton, the Rangers management might look to sell him off in case a right offer comes along in the summer.

Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s going to be difficult if some of the bigger teams come calling but I think maybe it’s time that Rangers look to offer him a new contract, maybe hold him down if you like.

“He’s 27 now, he’s obviously getting to the peak, he’ll probably be looking to tie himself down for the next few years so hopefully it is Rangers because he has done excellently well.

“However, I think if the price is right then maybe it’s one Rangers will look to cash in on.”

Connor Goldson to West Ham United next season?

West Ham United have shown a pressing interest in signing the defender as David Moyes looks to reinforce his defensive line for the upcoming season. And this statement from Hutton will be a real big boost for the Premier League club.

Leeds United are also interested in him but we think Connor Goldson will any day choose a move the Premier League rather than playing in the English second division.

The centre-back has two years left on his current deal at the club and surely Rangers will try and make him sign a new contract as soon as possible. But having said that, it’s no secret that Scottish clubs cannot hold onto their players for too long.

So, if a club like West Ham United are willing to spend £6-8 million on Connor Goldson, Steven Gerrard will happily part ways with the 27-year-old in the summer.
