West Ham United suffered a 1-2 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1st leg of their Europa League semi-final and this week they head to the Deutsche Bank Park for the second leg.

A one-goal deficit is not that hard to turn around but the Hammers have lost their momentum all of a sudden as they are winless in their previous four matches. They drew against Burnley, following which they have lost to Chelsea, Eintracht and Arsenal.

Thankfully, the Bundesliga side are not in the greatest of forms either as they have lost their previous six matches at home and they go into the second leg at the back of a 3-0 loss to Leverkusen.

This is the first time West Ham United will be facing a German side away from home in Europe since the 1975-76 season and till now, they have failed to win against German opposition in three attempts.

West Ham’s team news vs Eintracht Frankfurt:

Issa Diop was fit enough to make the bench against Arsenal but the defender is not going to get a start on Thursday night because David Moyes will stick with the pairing of Dawson and Kurt Zouma in central defence.

Ben Johnson played at right-back in the first leg but the 22-year-old is ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury which means Vladimir Coufal will come into the side.

The midfielder will obviously not see any reshuffles with Declan Rice and Soucek playing as the two holding midfielders. Soucek will be properly rested for this match because he played only 13-odd minutes in that Arsenal game during the weekend.

In the Arsenal game, the West Ham United manager rotated his forwards so that he can rest Michail Antonio but on Thursday, he will go back to his usual formation.

Benrahma is pushing Lanzini for the No 10 role but the 29-year-old will hold onto his place. Manuel Lanzini was poor in the first leg but Moyes should keep faith in him.

Jarrod Bowen played up front in the Arsenal game but with Antonio coming back into the starting XI, he will move out to the wing.

West Ham United predicted line up vs Eintracht Frankfurt:

Predicted Starting XI(4-2-3-1): Areola; Coufal, Cresswell, Dawson, Zouma; Declan Rice, Soucek, Manuel Lanzini; Jarrod Bowen, Fornals, Michail Antonio.
