West Ham United receive a double injury boost ahead of the Wolves game: Will these players start?

Andriy Yarmolenko West Ham United

West Ham United take on Wolves next weekend in the Premier League and David Moyes will see the return of some key players on Saturday.

The Hammers will obviously be without Angelo Ogbonna who has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during the win over Liverpool so he will be on the sidelines for some time.

But Moyes will see the return of both Nikola Vlasic and Andriy Yarmolenko after they were left out of the matchday squads vs Genk and then Liverpool.

Both the players had picked up niggling injuries but they have played during the international break for their respective national sides meaning they will be available for selection on Saturday as well.

Nikola Vlasic played both games for Croatia during the break, first vs Malta and then against Russia while Yarmolenko featured in Ukraine’s 1-1 draw vs Bulgaria.

Will Vlasic and Yarmolenko feature for West Ham United against Wolves?

Yarmolenko has featured in seven Premier League games this season but all of these appearances have come off the bench. And against Wolves, the 32-year-old will have a similar role as Jarrod Bowen starts on the right flank.

Vlasic has started only one league game for West Ham United this campaign so his return will only improve Moyes’ bench strength and nothing else.

The return of these two players will obviously be good news for the Hammers boss but this will do very little to affect his team selection when West Ham United head to Molineux. The kind of form they are in right now, we expect them to beat Wolves even without the help of the substitutes.

Declan Rice had withdrawn from the England squad due to an unspecified illness but the defensive midfielder should be fit in time for Saturday’s encounter.
